Fulbright Visiting Scholar Yerken Turganbaye

This April, ֱ West OÊ»ahu welcomes Fulbright Visiting Scholar Yerken Turganbayev to discuss regional economic development and policy in Kazakhstan. All ֱ West OÊ»ahu students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend this presentation. To reserve a seat, email Dr. Patricia Yu at pyu@hawaii.edu by April 21 at 1 p.m.
Yerken Turganbayev is the director of the Institute of Post University Training and New Educational Technologies at East Kazakhstan State Technical University. He received a PhD in economics at Robert Gordon University in the United Kingdom and a PhD in mathematics at Novosibirsk State University in Russia. Turganbayev’s research interests are the application of mathematical modeling approaches to various problems in economics and environment protection. He is currently a visiting scholar at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University.
